First I want to say a big welcome to 2016 all of you! It is a new year, a new start, and the time to say goodbye to all the things you disliked from 2015. It is also the time to focus on all the good that is about to happen in 2016. This year at Debbie’s we are focusing on gratitude, specifically showing gratitude to all of you – loyal fans of Debbie’s Boutique Café.

Many of you I have had the chance to meet in person, to sit down and have a moment to say hello and share stories with. The rest of you, I will try my best to get to chat with in 2016. I wanted to take a few minutes to talk about gratitude and why it is important to not forgattitude-of-gratitude-2et to practice daily in your life.

The notion that we should appreciate what we have is widespread and long-standing, around the world. An “attitude of showing gratitude has been linked to positives such as, better health, deeper more restful sleep, feelings of less anxiety, higher long-term satisfaction with life and exhibiting kinder behavior toward others. We often allow negative experiences to weigh more on our minds than positive ones. feeling gratitude daily can change that mindset over time.
