With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I thought I would share some personal insight with you.

I was recently introduced to the #EveryConversationCounts movement. If you do not know what it is, I highly suggest you read the 5 Secrets to Make Every Conversation Count. The lesson learned is described in three simple words: Every Conversation Counts. It took me back to think of conversations I have had that changed my life.

Of course, with being Valentine’s and the February theme of “all about love” at Debbie’s this month, I thought about quote-conversation-is-food-for-the-soulmy husband and our love story. It started with a brief conversation; I did not even need to have had. I was waiting for the bus on my way to work one morning, and I noticed Augustin looking lost trying to find his bus. I decided to ask him if he needed help finding his way. Turns out he was going in the same direction as me. Later that day, he was introduced as our newest employee at my place of employment! We became friends first having many conversations over lunches. I even tried to introduce him to some lovely ladies as I knew he was new to Toronto. One day he grew tired of my efforts and told me he was interested in someone else. Fifteen years later we are celebrating our wedding anniversary and have expanded our family to include our handsome son. Over the years we have had many conversations; some pleasant, some not so pleasant. We have traveled the world and experienced life together.

Just remember with every conversation, your words have the ability to connect, teach, and inspire a person at any given moment. The right words at the right time can be life changing. Now it is your turn to share a conversation. What is your love story (whether it is love for a spouse, partner, another family member, child or friend)?

Don’t forget! Debbie’s is the perfect place to unwind and relax into a great conversation.
